Wedding at Chota Falls in North Georgia
We would like to share photos from the wedding of Day Burruss and Jacob Breen. For their location, the couple chose Chota Falls, a beautiful destination venue in Clayton, nestled in North Georgia mountains.
The couple arranged their wedding day to be more than just “Their” day. It was a deeply moving event celebrated with love, family and friendship. As Day’s mom Sharon said it best, “The reason we are alive and can meet at a wedding is because two people fell in love generations before.”
Everywhere you looked, you could see that their hearts were focused on the element of family. Many decorative items in the wedding were pulled from multiple generations of both families. For instance, The bride’s veil was sewn by her maternal grandmother, worn by her mom, and restored for Day’s wedding. The garter was sewn by her paternal grandmother from materials that go three generations back. It was made up of grandmother’s, mom’s, and bride’s wedding dresses, along with the addition of a flower from a bridesmaid’s dress. Day’s paternal grandmother also made the flower girl’s dress and the ring bearer’s pants and vest.
At the reception, each of the table centerpieces was unique, most of them containing distinctive items from many family generations ago. Parents and grandparents received special honor during the evening, as well. The bride’s mom’s high school friends hosted the bridal luncheon the day before the wedding, and her aunts assisted as wedding coordinators and greeters. Each moment, from the planning to the execution of the big day was thought out to include family at the core of what was most important to Day and Jacob.
Day and her dad performed the most special father-daughter dance we’ve ever seen. Since Day cheered for Clemson University, their dance included the Clemson Rag, and ended with her dad lifting her on his shoulders while all of her fellow cheerleaders joined in the song… and what a song it was!
