Swan House Atlanta

06/11/2011 | Weddings

We photographed the wedding of Robin and Tom at one of Atlanta’s most historic venues: the Atlanta History Center’s Swan House. This is a remarkable and beautiful location for a wedding. Completed in 1928, the Swan House represents all of the splendor inherent in the lifestyles of Atlanta’s elite in the 1920’s and 30’s. The scale alone of the house and grounds is tremendous, and the wedding was like stepping into a fairytale.

Our bride prepared for her nuptials at the St. Regis Atlanta before heading to the house for the ceremony, and finally, the Atlanta History Center’s Grand Overlook Ballroom for the reception. There was a definite element of excitement during the proceedings as there seemed to be a summer storm brewing the entire ceremony. Aside from a few strong gusts of wind, however, the storm kept to the sky; and at the end, the clouds parted ways and gave us some nice light for our portraits.
